Welding alloys (welding agents) Silver is used in considerable quantities to make welding alloys, which are mainly ternary alloys composed of silver, copper and zinc. The composition of silver can range from 10 to 80%, copper from 15 to 50%, and zinc from 5 to 40%. Most of these alloys have melting points between 650 and 775C. Sometimes copper or tin is added to create an alloy with a lower melting point. Silver welding alloys are used in the industry to weld those metals, that is, when brazing alloys require higher welding temperatures, it can cause excessive particle growth or other harmful effects on the metal at the weld. Electric contact material

Silver's low contact resistance and high conductivity make it a much needed metal in electrical contact equipment, but if the contact voltage is high or there is an arc, the life of the contactor made of pure silver is not long. A series of substances composed of silver and various non-metals and refractory metals have been developed into high-power electrical contact devices. These substances are not alloys in nature because the components do not dissolve each other. They are prepared by metallurgical technology, that is, by pressing and sintering a mixture of fine powder of each component. Substances divided into silver and tungsten, silver and key, silver and nickel, silver and graphite, silver and oxidation picks, and silver and lead oxide are used as electrical contact materials.
