Ti₃AlC₂ is a layered ternary ceramic (MAX phase) that uniquely combines metallic and ceramic properties. With exceptional thermal shock resistance, self-lubrication, and damage tolerance, it outperforms conventional materials in extreme environments.

  • Damage Tolerance: 
    Knoop hardness 3.5 GPa with 9 MPa·m¹/² toughness
