1,1,3,3-Tetraethoxypropane can be used as a reactant to synthesize:

1. 3,5-Diformylated 1,4-dihydropyridines via multicomponent coupling reaction with amine hydrochlorides and aldehydes.

2. Thiadicarbocyanines via condensation with tosylates.

3. Optically active pentamethine dyes through coupling with carbazoles.
